Data Deletion
Last updated 18 June 2026
You are always in control of your data. Here is exactly how to disconnect Gmail, delete the data SpentOn imported from your email, and delete your account — all from inside the app, with nothing left behind.
Disconnect Gmail (stop future reading)
Go to Settings → Connected email accounts and remove the Gmail account. SpentOn immediately stops reading any new email from that inbox. The transactions you already reviewed stay in your ledger so your history and the picture we reflect remain accurate — delete your account (below) if you want those removed too.
Delete imported data and your account
Go to Settings → Privacy & reset → Delete account. This permanently and immediately:
- Revokes SpentOn's Google OAuth grant at Google for every linked Gmail account, so access is killed at the source.
- Deletes everything we derived from your email — parsed email content, transactions, subscriptions, recurring bills, budgets, goals, people, and insights.
- Deletes your stored Gmail OAuth tokens and your SpentOn login.
You can also revoke access directly from your Google Account permissions page at any time.
Export first, if you want a copy
Before deleting, you can download everything we hold as JSON from Settings → Export.
What may remain temporarily
After deletion, residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups and security logs and are purged on our standard backup-retention cycle. We never restore deleted data into the live product.
